Raid 1 Question About Replacing A Drive

I have RAID 1 with 2 SCSI drives. drive 0 and 1 are mirrored. I have an Adaptec SCSI card. What will happen when one of those drives fail and I have to replace it with one of our backups? Should it automatically set that drive up in the array or will I have to manually set up the array again?

Just Curious.
