A simple question:

How would one go about migrating an existing RAID 0 to a new controller. for example, I had my two 60gb seagate hd's running RAID 0 on a soyo kt333 dragon platinum which uses the hpt372 controller and I got a new mobo (asus A78NX) which uses the sil-3112a controller for SATA raid. I have the parallel to sata converters and all the hardware necessary but can't get my old array to show up on the new configuration. How would I go about getting the array to be recognized and/or recovered. I went through the setup utility to make the array but was afraid it might have deleted the former partitions. I need help. any would be greatly appreciated.

Well I don't have much experiance with anything other then the promise chipset in ata raid. but in scsi you enter into mini-config the option during post. and make a copy of the configuration, then when you go to the new system you boot into the mini-config there and copy the config data from the floppy....of course on high-end scsi raid there is a copy of the config on each hdd as well as the card, just to be safe. But I am unsure of taking the config from one chipset and transferring it to the other controller,it might not be able to translate it.
