Hi there,
I have a Gigabyte GA-7DXR or at least i did until i tried to upgrade
the CPU and replace the northbridge fan with a Zalman heatsink! I am
unable to even get to the POST stage now. I have tried everything:
Putting original CPU back, trying to clear BIOS, Clear CMOS, Tried
memory in diff slot, try another PSU, check the ip switches, tried
putting a diff graphics card in, made sure graphics card was inserted
properly, tried booting with barebones (CPU,PSU and video) AND i have
concluded that i may have damaged the Northbridge by installing the
Zalman heatsink - WELL the original heatsink was WELL glued on!
So ive decided to buy a new motherboard as i was gonna nxt month
anyway. What i need to know is will my 2 60gb hard-disks operate as
they were with the original data as a RAID array 0 in a new
motherboard with a different RAID controller? Or will i have to stick
with the Promise 20265R controller? Or have i lost my data for good?
Any help that will help would be GREATLY appreciated
Bali
