RAID 0 & Default IDE Controller Be Used Simultaneously?

This is probably a stupid question and I think I already know the answers...but here goes; I was wondering if you could use a RAID 0 config in conjuction with using a your normal IDE 1 controller with a hard drive for storage purposes? Or is it once you use a RAID config can you only add HDD via the array?
