Hi, I have a brand new radeon 9000 card with tv out.
I used the 4-pin s-video cable came with the card and a s-video to RCA connector to connect to the tv because the tv doesn't have a s-video input. But the problem is it only displays in black and white. Also it cannot display any videos, just the desktop and pictures. Can anyone tell me what could be the problem and how can I fix it?

Hi, I'm having the same issue with a ATI Radeon 8500LE. It really sems to be a big issue

There are 2 things that immediately come to mind:
1) Possibly a bad cable...unlikely but possible.
2) Possibly the TV...as there are compliance issues with
older ones. Have no newer one to try it with?

Another thing, is there a control panel where you can configure the drivers...that is to tell it what kind of signal you're expecting to send. There are 2 common standards, PAL, a European standard (?) and NSTC...you need NSTC.

Not having video output (other than pictures and the Desktop) may mean your drivers aren't correctly installed.
Try uninstalling them from AddRemovePrograms and reinstalling them.
