Sounds like an easy thing doesn't it? You have a Radeon 9700 Pro so install the drivers for it and off you go. Problem is this:

ATI's Catalyst 4.9 driver installation software gets no further than the very start and reboots my PC. No blusescreen, no sutting down - just 'bof' and I'm looking at the memory test at POST.

Any troubleshooting tips for this would be appreciated...

Something did this to me, but I don't remember what. It could have been catalyst. I figured the drivers were installed, and it was avoiding a normal shutdown to keep the new drivers in place. Everything was working OK when the system finished rebooting. Are the drivers installed when it comes back?

I have sorted it now - it wasn't getting as far as the driver installation - it was almost as if some pre-installation check it was doing was killing the PC. Oh well - I downloaded the latest AGP drivers for my motherboard, installed them and then it installed OK. Odd that it should just bounce the PC without warning though...

Thanks for your ideas
