Radeon 9200 SE Dual Monitor problem

Howdy all,
I've got a Radeon 9200 card in my Windows XP PC which I'm trying to use to extend my primary monitor to two monitors. I've got it mirroring with no problem, but I can't seem to get it to extend off of 1 to 2 (an extended view). I've tried the obvious stuff in the display > settings option, but to no avail. Any advice?
