someone just gave me an ati radeon 9000 for the mac. wonderful, i would love to use it in my pc. i tried flashing the bios but it said it wasnt the right card and i couldnt force it to flash. also, when i tried to back up the original mac bios, the file size came out 32k when the pc bios is someo 50k. i think the mac bios backup may have gotten corrupted, but im not sure.

any solid ideas to try? i dont really have anything else to do with this card, so im willing to try anything short of major hardware modification.

I have been looking at this post for a couple of days now and because nobody has replied to it I will just point out an observation that I made on my friends G4 mac a couple of weeks ago.
It also has an ATI Radeon card and I can remember thinking to myself that the physical spacing of the contacts were differant to that of a PC. If I am correct (and I cannot be 100% on this) it just won't fit a PC. Martin

well, it looks like the bios i was flashing it with was a gigabyte bios and not the genuine ati one. so, replace the file on the floppy, reboot, flash with appropriate file, and it works. and, obvious from my previous statements, it does indeed fit

yay, a $100 video card for free, and it even has the mac video out on it so if i ever do get around to getting that 23" cinema display.... oh yeah, im broke! ^_^
