I've just upgraded to an
asus A7N8X,
512 mb of ddr PC3200
Athlon XP 2000 Thouraghbread
400 WATT dual fan Psu
Radeon 8500 Graphics card.
All the latest drivers for mobo grahics are installed.
When ever i run 3dmark 2001se my computer will turn off after about 20 seconds. It will only turn back on if you turn off the mains power for a minute. It then reboots fine. Also the temp reading is different in the bios to the asus temp.software provided on the mobo cd.
Acording to mother board moniter prog. the cpu is running at 50 degrees and the mobo about 25.
I've tried altering the memory settings, running dx9, trying 3d 2003, complete OS reinstall, latest bios but still it crashes.
It could be the built in COP facilty to stop the cpu overheating but it has cooler and heatsink rated to an athlon 2200 on it.
however when i run my old geforce mmx 400 card the system is rock steady and runs 3d 2001se better than it ever has and never crashes. Put the radeon 8500 back in and 'crash'
Also crashes when running games, in fact anything that is graphics intensive. Any help would be really appreciated as I've run out of ideas!
Cheers Toby
