if i assign a voicemail port as a RAD how many simultaneous calls can it take?

The reason i ask this is, i don't see the point of a RAD hunt group unless this would be used for external RAD devices only.

only one call per port. if you need muliple calls you would assign more voicemail ports to a specif rad set and in turn have the rad set point to the actual rad number.

then by putting these newly created rad ports in a hunt group you would then be able to have multiple callers hear your rads.

I just read the help files and it states that a voicemail port configured as a RAD can handle 50 calls at the same time.This does make sense to me, so if say you had 90 trunks you would put two RAD ports into a RAD hunt group.

Remember, those 50 calls all have to hit the rad at the same time to be conferenced on to it. Otherwise you wait (hearing ring back) until the rad is free so it can conference on the next set of waiting callers. More rad ports in a group means less wait time for a rad to become free.

Has anyone actually got this to work? I usuall put the RADs into hunt groups to facility more than one simultanious call.

Ah never mind. the helpfile refers to extenal RAD (ONS ports). I was referring to the embedded RAD ports.

Alfredspecial I didn't see the voicemail port part, only for ONS etc. I have not yet tried this with external RADS.
