Hi
It's been years since I used C-Builder (Ver 4) So I am way behind.
I always did enjoy it and its ability to access windows API's especially, However I digress,

My simple question is what Level of Studio do I need in order to perform real Database activities.
I read that the Professional version supports several database models but locally.
I am not sure if "locally" means:
on your stand alone computer(I fear),
or on your local net (I hope)

Must I buy the Enterprise or Ultimate version, just to get net-workable multiuser database capability?

Thanks in advance
Dekaya

Thanks; I have a very limited time frame to take advantage of the year-end discount so I really appreciate your responding to my message in such a timely manner.

In the past I used a multiuser relational database (DataFlex).
It had field locking capabilities (with a record reread just before posting, to take into account other users changes) so users were not locked out of a commonly edited record.
very nice.

It had a very stable platform with almost no maintenance once set up
(Still running 20 years later)

I am wondering what database would you use with the Pro version that could be multiuser and shared over a network?
Thanks again
Dekaya

There are so many :)

I personally use MsSQL (express version is free) and MySQL.
some others:

Firebird
PostgreSQL

I use ADO components (TADOQuery, TADOConnection, ...) for all my database interactions so that I am not tied to a specific database platform.
