RAD question 1

Hi all,
I have just installed a new RAD on one of the extensions but when I try to connect to the rad from an analog line I don't get the rad to open and it says "not in service" when I go to maintenance I can see the RAD as the device using that extension but when I dial the extension the Rad doesn't open at all. Do I have to do anything else before trying to connect?
Any input would be appreciated.

You have to initialize the rad. You do this by pressing feature 9*0. That will get you into the rad admin. You have to set the password, and line it answers on an incomming call. Once you do that it should work.
 
Thanks for the reply Lkev but when I press Feature 9*0 it says : "call is rejected"
 
My Bad. It is Feature 9** to initialize. Feature 9*0 bounces you into the rad. Sorry. Feature 9** is what you need.

The guy who was using the RAD before gave us the password but when I try it with feat 9** it says invalid entry!
any sugestions?
 
Look under the FAQs of this forum.
They give instructions on how to reset the RAD and FastRAD.

I don't know why they work, but they do!

I was able to reset the Rad's password but this is my first time to use the rad so please help me if you can.
When I try to connect using NRU 10 the reception answers then transfers the call to the RAD the call comes back to her
I am using
Baud rate 9600
int string EQ0X4V1&D2&C1S7=85

And on the rad:
Auto-answer ON
Line 001
Delay 18
Baud 9600

Any help will be appreciated.
 
Is she doing a FEATURE 9 * 0 ?
You can't just transfer to the RAD extension.

She has to enter feature 9*0 to bounce you into it, as the above post states.
 
You do not want auto answer on for line 1.
If you have the option to use 19200 set it for that. It will fall back to 14000 or whatever the connection allows.
 
need help in backingup dr5.
have fastrad and 8.1 software
when i try to backup i get mesag say not suported dr5.
what can i do

You must use norstar manager to back up DR5. It is part of the NRU package.
