I recently added an office to a MITEL 3300 ICP.

I have a very simple acd path in which the first rad greeting gives the main greeting and the interflow options.

They have very high call volume, so I have 5 RAD ports in the hunt group.

I have set the COS to specify those ports are a RAD device, made my recording, and set the delay to start and the message timer.

The issue is, the ports are answering maybe 1 out of 3 or 4 times on the first ring. Otherwise, it take 3 - 5 rings for the RAD port to answer. Is there something I am missing?

Check the message length timer.

It should be set to a value not more than 5 seconds greater than your actual message length.

If you have many messages of varying length, the most common mistack is to use the same COS for all of them.

I typically set up several COS's for RADs with 5 second increments for message timers.

The port will not ansewer again before the message length timer has expired regardless of the status of the port.

You must change the value " answer plus delay to message timer " in the COS of RAD port .
The default value is 20 , but if you change it to 1 , the response of RAD is instant .
