Rack Mounting a V880

Hi,

to conserve space in our data centre, we're considering rack-mounting two V880's. Has anyone any expeiences of this to share - any do's and don'ts for the uninitiated? Cheers.

I have a total of 6 V880 installed in three Sun StorEdge 72 inch expansion racks.

The rack installation kits are well documented and easy to install. The V880s' are lifted up and into the trays.


Be sure to pull out the stablizer legs when pulling out the V880, especially the top unit.


I have had no cooling problems.

Tuka, many thanks for the words of caution, it's not something I would like to have tip up on my toes/head, I must admit. I must admit to some trepidation mounting such a box in a rack, but your experiences seem to indicate that it isn't too onerous. I have read the Sun docs on this and it *appears* straightforward enough, so here we go (when the rack kit arrives that is!). Thanks again.
