We have one client running IPO 500 R7. They plan to upgrade in another 4 months to R9.1 and IPOCC but now as a matter of urgency they need to record calls and we are proposing Essential edition License + Preferred Edition License + Contact Recorder License.

My question is can we supply them with R9+ Essential Edition......R9+ Preferred Edition (VM Pro) and R9 Contact Recorder. Will these R9 licenses work on their R7 system?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think the CR license will work on R7 because it has been introduced in R9.1 IIRC. Earlier you had to purchase Advanced Edition to enable call recording/Contact Store.

I would upgrade to 9.1 and add IPOCC later.

There is no Essential License on R7, the rest of the licenses should work though.

If they need more than 4 VM channels for recording it will be cheaper to buy the IPOCC licenses (if they gonna buy these anyway later) since they include one recording channel for each agent.

If you get them a new processor I would start with essential and preferred on 9.1 and then make a phone call
Then downgrade them back to R7 after the system is hardcoded to be a 9.1 system (hence the first call on R9.1)

You would still not be able to have Contact Recorder but would have to use Contact Store which needs advanced license like derfloh already mentioned, 229424
is the number but I doubt that you still can order it and if you can it is ridiculously expensive for a temporary solution.
Do the recordings but without the library access until you use the final R9.1 is my suggestion or look for a cheaper third party solution all together and do the recordings on the PRI or SIP that works on R7 and R9.1 and the customer doesn't need to change their setup or workings when switching to R9.1
