The licence to get off Basic mode (quick renamed) to essential edition is.... $495

So to get the same system you do now is an extra $495....oh dear :-(

But when you put it on 7.0 and you buy an upgrade license then you get a virtual essential edition license.
What about the upgrade license then?
Where do you have this from?

PS the preferred edition license will be $500 cheaper!

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

No it isn't Peter, it the same cost as it is now because essential is needed first, so all they have done is make the IP Office we have now $500 more expensive and make it appear Vm Pro is cheaper when in reality it's the same price if you look at the total cost (+/- $5)...also they have limited essential edition to a 2 site scn/2 remote phones...when did they sneak that in?

Yes it is Andy,

The docs tell me that you need an essential edition license or a R8 upgrade license.
When they make the essential $500 then the upgrade is cheaper but i think they raise the price for an upgrade license too i guess.

Peter, look at the maths:

To go from no system > Preferred on R7 = $2445
To go from no system > Preferred on R8 = $2440 (SD card $50 + Essential $495 + Preffered $1895)

How is that cheaper? (Well $5...wow) :)

You are not reading Andy!

When you have a system running 7.0 and you buy an upgrade license then the upgrade license will give you a virtual essential edition license.
The R7 upgrade license is $99 or $199.
So now i am curious if that will still be the same.
If yes then put it on 7.0 and buy an upgrade license.
So i think the upgrade licenses will be more expensive too.
Do you know how much that will cost :)

The upgrade licence will be more than $495...one thing they don't miss is a way to avoid giving them more money :)

They are stupid doing this.
They more and more are going to loose deals to other vendors because of higher prices.

I just realised that for the extra $495 you don't in fact get what we have now, as you can't have any User licences....what a bargain :)

NTE-wave-logo-for-a4-header.jpg

But you do have free mobile twinning :)

BAZINGA!

Wow...out of the last 20 systems I fitted 0 use mobile twinning, they forward to their mobile but don't twin or want to, that isn't going to sell any systems when you get it free on other systems anyway :)

There is an advantage.
You can now forward all groups by using mobile twinning (a bit dirty)

What I think will happen is BP's will sell the Essential licence for cost price to minimise the price rise to the customer. That's more than likely what we will do anyway, we will still not sell Basic/Quick mode to people...it's sh1t :)

Not happy with Avaya ATM....

It is rubbish.
It is like putting a Panasonic in instead of an IPO :)

I can see myself having lots of discussions with the sales team when I bounce their validation requests.

buying IPO in muppet mode is like buying an Aston Martin without getting a licence to drive!

Computers are like Air conditioners:-
Both stop working when you open Windows

Better example ->with a 1.0 liter 3 cylinder engine in it :)

You also get 2 free Mobile Worker licences allowing for 2 9600 remote phones too!

That's bollo**s though, it should allow any handset to go NAT traversal not just 2 (just as Mitel does) otherwise you would just use a VPN as we do now, also is that another licence (Remote worker) I smell? It must be as you can't have User licences without Preferred :)

Not happy with Avaya ATM....

You will notice they also band VPN phones in with the 2 Remote extn thing, so it looks like licenced VPN phones are back and limited to 2 also :)
