R8.0.44 IP Phones without VPN 1

I read on this site that you can connect IP phones without a VPN now. Just using ports 1719 and 1720. Is this true?

"For 8.0 you can do port forwarding and then you don't need a VPN router.
On LAN1 or 2 if you goto VoIP than you need to tick H.323 Remote Extn enable."

You also need to forward the rtp Ports too.

We got it working. but what about the HTTP files. Do I have to do it local? Doesnt want to down load them. Getting the 404 error.

You should do that locally or by a webserver on the internet.

Hi Guys,

This is good info... but. What are:

1: The numbers of the rtf ports

2. Which protocol is required on each of the ports being forwarded? TCP/UDP both??

3. What protocol on ports 1719 & 1720
I'd like to try this... need a little more detailed info..
