R7 with Privacy problems

We just installed an ACS R7 in a place where there was an old baby partner 206 r4. Before they were breaking into the answering machine if a call got to it before they got to the phone. the 206 R4 bit the dust finally and we installed the ACS R7 and now, even though privacy is not assigned, they cant pick up the call like they did before if it got to the answering machine. I have reset the system to default 3 times, then reprogrammed and it is still doing it. Anyone else ever hear of or had this problem? any suggestions? Thanks
 
Also, I just forgot to mentions, They are using mls phones, would this have anything to do with it?
 
One of the patches released for the R7 to cure a processor problem caused the Privacy feature to be always on.

The latest patch (J) might fix that problem as well as a few others that the older patches created.

Because the R7 has been so hampered with problems, many Authorized Avaya Partners refuse to sell it and continue to sell the R6, which has been bug free.
 
can they pick up on other conversation within the acs

(can 11 pick up on a line 12 is talking on ? )

how is the answering machine hooked up ?

is it a extesion or just coming off line before it hits the system ?

 
If privacy is programmed as Not Assigned, you can break into a line with Intercom-6-8-(Line Number).

Sorry, that's the way it is on Rev. 91-I. Perhaps the next patch will fix this issue.
 
Check the release (feature 59).If you have rel 7 i you won't be able to turn privacy off. rel 7 j should solve this problem.
 
This is the reason I wont use the upgrade unless the ACS really needs it.
