When you call the main number after 4 rings the voicemail grabs the call and without a greeting hangs up. I had the customer put a button on their phone for ext 19 and 20 which are the voicemail ports and you can see them light up after the 4 rings. I also had them plug ext 18 into trunk port 4 and call ext 18. When you do this the voicemail says ext 10 is unavailable. What gives?

Do they BOTH light up on the incoming call?

Do you have 19 and 20 in Hunt Group 7?

What happens when you dial Intercom 777?

ACS R7??

What TTT said also list you equipment in order. How many port license?

Equipment is 509 and 2 port messaging. Only one extension lights up at a time. Yes they are in hunt group 7.

Looking at the system, can you tell us what modules are installed. Say for example you could have a 5 module holder with the following cards (from left to right):

308
308
Partner ACS R7
012
Partner Mail VS or Avaya Partner Messaging.

This will help us figure out if the problem is being caused by incorrect ports being assigned to group 7.

The other common voicemail system for the Partner ACS is the Partner Voice Messaging, which is simply a PC card that slides into one of the 2 PC drives on the front of the ACS processor and does not have its own module like the Partner Mail VS or the Avaya Partner Messaging.

5 Slot carrier, R7 processor, R7 Avaya Partner messaging ( first slot to the left. I've put alot of these things in just not this one and I'm trying to help a friend over the phone who is also a tech, just rusty on Partners. When you dial 777 or push the autodial button the voicemail answers, so I think the ports are correct. I was thinking he programmed some kind of coverage with #208 when he was setting remote call forward but we checked that, and it wasn't that. I'm stumped.

When you say first slot to left you mean far left or slot 1 I hope.

Dial all the extensions of the voicemail 19,20,21,22,23,24 there were license ports that were labeled incorrectly (2 ports were actually 4 ....)

Yeah first slot far left. That would be sweet getting a four port card for a two port price. I'll try it.

nope. Hey they also have a channel bank, could this be a disconnect issue with the provider

If they have a stand alone POTs line you could use it for test call purposes to prove the provider. [neutral]

No normal pots lines. But that still doesn't explain why when you plug ext 18 into a trunk port and call ext 18 and get ext 10 is unavailable. Maybe two problems but I like to have my stuff in order before I blame the LEC because they love to blame us.

As far as Looping X18 to a CO Port on calling 18 and getting X10 is not avaible, that sounds like your Group Call Dist. #206 is set to 3 VMS Cover instead of 1 Assigned. As far as the Disconnect, I think you are on the right track.
