R7 Processor, 308EC, 308EC, 012 and R7 Messaging in a 5 slot carrier. Everything is working great except when I plug line 6 in the first line port on the first 308ec (for line 6 of course) the phones immediately start ringing line 6 and when you answer it's a dial-tone? This is the DSL line, but it is filtered correctly. It is ONLY line port 6 on the system. You plug the same line into another line port and everything is fine. You plug another line in the 6 port and it starts ringing the phones.

Can anybody shed some light on this ASAP!!

sounds like a bad module

have you tried plugging another line in that spot ?

have you tried plugging the line into 7 and 8 on the 308 ?

yes, if i plug the line into line 8 everything is fine. anything that gets plugged into the 6 line port starts ringing constantly?

I've had a couple like that, past warranty and the customer didn't want to replace it. I just moved the line to another port, programmed the phones to appear properly, and marked the port as bad so we didn't try to use it again later.

It's hard to come back later and wonder why when you assign "L06" to the Auto Attendant, it doesn't work. Then its "Oh yeah.....

I wonder, did you default the R7 before you began programming it? If not, do a back up, then default, test line 6 again. If it fixes it great, if not , do a restore. If it does fix it, you will need to reprogram it from scratch as the restore will probably restore the issue as well.

You do not always get what you pay for, but you never get what you do not pay for.
