Does the R6 & R7 PROC modules have built in VM as part of the module?

Thank you. The reason I asked is that I saw one for sale that said it included VM however it only showed the PROC which I understand can be mounted on the wall by itself with no carrier if only using 3 lines and 8 stations.

The seller may be throwing in a Partner Voice Messaging card which would fit into one of the 2 PC card slots on the front of the processor. [ponder]

or the seller may not know what they have, post a link to the auction and we can see .

(there was one seller on ebay who had duplex speakerphone in their MLS 12 descreptions )

So if I understand then. The R6 & R7's can have VM with just the addition of the VM card inserted into the interface slot without needing the Partner VM module inserted into one of the carriers slots?

Just to double check then. THe older Partner like the R3 Proc DOES need the VM module inserted into the carrier and the R6 & R7 have ben combined into ONE single module?

you can use them in any release ACS

from the manual ...
For PARTNER ACS Release 1.1 or later, use a PARTNER Voice Messaging PC Card to
provide messaging features (store personal greeting and store and retrieve callers’ messages)
for up to four mailboxes.

I thought the voice mail program and messages were stored on a small internal hard drive

The Partner Mail VS and the Avaya Partner Messaging use small hard drives to store messages and announcements.

The Partner Voice Messaging is a PC card that is inserted into one of the front PC card slots on the front of the Partner ACS processors.

So you are saying that only the Partner ACS PROC module is the only PROC that does not require a voice mail module and can store and play all messages and announc. via this card. NO hard drive needed?

The PC Large is a flash memory card. Limited to 1 auto attendant and mailboxes up to 16. No sub menus or announcements.
The PC Small is the same but only has 4 mailboxes.

That Partner Voice Messaging is compatible with most Partner ACS revisions and, I believe, a few other Partner versions.

A reply to another topic gave a link to a well done Partner System overview written by J Shelton (I don't remember which post it was).

Look back at some of the posts from this past week to locate the link and check out the section that discusses the Partner Voice Messaging. The processors that the PVM can be used with are documented.

Yes, thank you. I understand now. Most of my Partner customer are to busy to use a small version of VM. They have very busy offices and most need at least a 2x10 with AA and subs if not more.

I have just printed of that overview the other day have been busy but will review it this weekend.

John did an excellent job with the overview. I know he was looking to have someone update it, but I don't know if that ever came about. [sad]
