R14.01 with W2K 1

Hi!!

I have a problem with an instalation of ACAD R140.01 in a W2K professional.
Everytime that I launch the program with the administrator profile ACAD works fine, but when I launch it with a restricted user it gives me an error that it couldn't update the registry key.
I have given the users full access in the ACAD SUBKEY with regedt32 but it still pops up this message. However it seems that ACAD works fine after you accept the error dialog.
How can I eliminate this error dialog? Which key is does the ACAD modifies?

This just doesnt happen with R14, it also happens with 2000 and 2002, its the factor of W2k thats causing the problem.
What you have to do is to log in LOCALLY as administrator, and then give the user(s) local admin rights, in the User Manager. Then log in as the user and acad will run fine.

Dont know weather you want a user to have local admin rights, but there is not much you can do anyway.....this is just a quick fix, im working on a reg hack to sort it out. Jay~

Hello, we have corporate policy which dictates that our Windows 2000 Pro users to not get "power user" or "admin" access locally or otherwise. There should be an easy reg-hack. Someone at Autodesk should be able to figure this out relatively quickly. Please, please, please help me with this issue. I have an impatient user waiting to be able to use Autocad on his Windows 2000 Pro pc.
