I have just update a IPO 500V2 from R7 to R11, I did the steps for the upgrade R7-R8.1-R9.1-R11, now after a few days the 5400 phones show a 1 in front of the time. So if it is 1:05 PM the phone shows 11:05. This has happened on 2 systems on the same SCN. I will check to see if any other phone is affected.

Well, the line "not supported" does have a meaning.
Replace the phones with 14xx sets.

I know just trying to see if it is a issue with the install and not a software bug. Figured if others were having issues I would know better.

Well, we tried too and the display will get more garbled after time and at a certain poit the screen is useless.
Resetting the phone do work for some time but I think it is unacceptable for a customer.

My guess would be that the 1 from "12:59pm" is being left behind when the "1:00pm" is being displayed right justified, bit of a silly bug (what we used to call "bit rot" in my days of maintaining old software...), but as intrigrant points out that are no longer supported (nor in 10.1 as rdoubrava suggests you use, but I don't know if it's OK there).

My guess would be that if they just make a call attempt it will update the whole display (I don't have any 5410s round here to check), not ideal but cheaper than supported phones, and possibly more acceptable than switching to 24hr clock.

WE have now seen this on 3 R11 upgrades that we have done with 5400 series phones, the question now is can we simply not display the time and date?
Mike

In the past you needed a button "time" on 5410/5420 phones to enable/disable showing the time on the phones.
So program a button and see if you can disable showing the time using the button.
Settings for these phones are stored as a *DCP entry in the users shortcode, maybe if you erase that it will stop showing date/time as it has always been disabled by default in the past.

Just a question/suggestion.... Can you just active 24-hour time instead of 12-hour time? Would that not solve the problem?

That isn’t an option.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

My dispatch complained about the same thing on Friday when I came to the office and I told her to live with it :)

If you have a 10 year old car it won't behave like a new one [ponder]

And Avaya stopped supporting them a few releases back because I guess they just can't fix it either, LOL.

There is a config option on System > Telephony > TUI called "Time Format" with locale based and 12/24hr options - it's only documented for the 1400, 1600, 9500 and 9600 Series phones.
Also, depending on which country you are in the users may not accept 24hr time format.
But it may be worth a try for the 5410s if intrigrant's suggestion of the time button doesn't sort it.
