I began using the Sidekick P.I.M. in 1997 with a download and bought Sidekick 98. I have used it for 10 years and there is nothing like it as it is a very flexible program whereas other information managers are not. Microsoft Outlook is a prime example.
Now I'm moving my information to the iPhone/iPod Touch but wish I could find an application with the great flexibility of Sidekick. I have used Sidekick to make new card files for different things to keep track of such as the usual address book, a cataloging of all of my books, my doctors and different medical categories, employment, and places where I've worked. It really is a great program and it is too bad programs like this end up on the junk heap of technology whereas other ones survive.
