Hello all,

We had someone reach out to us that used to have an internal SMTP Server and now use an External Provider so of course Voicemail to email stopped working.

I went out there to try and help them out however nothing would work.

First thing, it appears on R5.0, the SMTP settings are not avail in VM Pro, only IPO Manager and only as an IP Address.

I tested both the account the requires authentication as well as there open SMTP settings and neither would work.

Are there SMTP Logs somewhere on R5.0?

Everything works fine on our Lab R11 system with their credentials.

Thank you.

The SMTP settings are in the Control Panel in a VoicemailPro option

For the logging you have to do the following

1. Stop the Voicemail Pro Service
2. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
3. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
4. Expand SOFTWARE.
5. Expand Avaya.
6. Expand Media Services
7. Click Directories
8. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click String Value.
9. Type SMTPLogging, and then press ENTER.
10. Right-click the SMTPLogging STRING Value, and then click Modify.
11. Type 1, and then click OK.
12. Start the Voicemail Pro Service
The log is in C:\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Voicemail Pro\VM\Logs
In the format of SMTP-DDMMYYYY.log

R5 vmpro doesn't support TLS so I doubt there current hosted email will work anyway. Your best bet is to load a local machine with an smtp server and use it to send the emails.
