Can I trust the >File >Print >Bleed Tab, to define Bleeds for printers or publications using QXP 5 or 6?

Up to now, I have always dragged the Picture Boxes out into the Paste Board area to the amount specified by the printer or publications.

If the Bleed Tab settings work via Capture Settings, then it would certainly save time and provide a more exacting methodolgy for setting bleeds. Thanks.

NO.
You have to make bleed by draging stuff onto the Pastboard. Otherwise there is no bleed.
The bleed options in the print menu are options only.
they are there in case you want bleed, How much bleed etc etc. They don't create the bleed for you!!!
They just allow it to show up in the print
