Hi guys,
We are running Symantec AV corporate edition (multi tiered edition) - its configured for real time scanning of Exchange 2000.
The clients are running fine without a proplem.
My problem is this:
When the server finds a virus in a message, it sends a desktop message that a virus (netsky.b) has been found in message UNKNOWN in mailbox UNKNOWN and has been moved to quarantine.
This info also gets logged in the servers EVENT VIEWER in the application log, BUT when i goto the servers quarantined section in the GUI - it shows nothing at all in there.
However, IF I go to the physcial location of the quarantine folder - there ARE files in there with .q file extensions, the date and time stamps match up (coincide with the envent entries)
I think this has started to happen since i did a live update a few weeks back.
The details are thus:
Dell Server with
Win2K server (small business server)
Symantec version: 8.00.9374
Scan Engine: 4.1.0.15
It has got the latest definition files.
Any ideas guys?
