Hi all,

This is my first post. Hopefully someone has an answer other than what I found on Novell's web site. Here is my situation:

We have a customer who had GroupWise 6 sp1, running on Novell 5.1 sp3, and running with a 3rd party gateway for SMTP called TFS. The TFS gateway was replaced with GWIA and Surfcontrol SMTP for content filtering. GroupWise was patched to sp2. It now appears that incoming email that gets added to the frequent contact adress book has " quotes around the name. Those with " will not autocomplete,
ie "Joe Smith" <JSmith@abc.com>. SurfControl does not add or strip the header, it just passes it through and can filter based on SPAM. Does the GWIA or client alter this or can this be controlled? It was not a problem before GWIA and sp2.

I found the following TID on Novell's site 10062777, which will not satisfy my client since this did not occur before GWIA.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Lou

So to begin you had the TFS gateway only, now incomming mail comes to your Surfcontrol Gateway before being passed to your GWIA correct?

Try this; use telnet to access the Surfcontrol box. To do this on M$ the command would be TELNET <IPADDRESS> 25 , or if you use a windows based telnet app, be sure you point it to port 25. Use this TID to send commands to it and pass a test message through the Surfcontrol gateway, the the GWIA and find out were the formating gets screwy on you.

When the commands tells you to enter in <john_doe@company.com> , be sure you do use the < and > characters in the address just like in the example, they are needed
