Hi,
I was migrating a Linux server at a school last weekend and decided to use LVM and Reiserfs. I had read that the Reiser quota code wasn't perfect but worked.
They need to use disk quota but have used ext2 until now.

The problem is that the Reiserfs driver doesn't understand the mount option 'quota'. I've been going through the whole driver source but can't find the mount options anywhere.

I have the newest patches and tried with both 2.4.19 and .20.
Does anyone know what the mount option is or if I'm doing something wrong??

Thanks

If anyone is interested the option is usrquota. That works.

Hello Morsing i had exactelly the same probleme yesterday, but i have no solution :(.

Can you please share with us your knowledg, so i can enable quotas in a reiserfs partition (under linux 2.4.20)

Thanks.

Ok, the mount option is 'usrquota'.

The standard kernel doesn't include quota support for reiserfs (and it *is* still unstable) but some distros does include it (SuSE).
Do a Google on reiserfs quota patch. It's easy to find.

Ok Thanks...
So unstable version, i do not think that i will use it for production environnement !

Did you ?

Thanks for all ;)

It's going into production tomorrow.
The reports say that the computer *will* lock up after a long time of heavy use.

Since this one won't experience heavy use I'll take my chances and patch as necessary.
