"xxx"s Novell/Groupwise email messages

We have Novell/Groupwise Intranet system software at our company. Cable and Wireless are providing Frame Relay. We have noticed that many of our received emails are appearing to be all xxx's and some ASCII character codes. We have run Norton on the receiving terminals for viruses and have found nothing. The problem is across the board for both Mac and PCs.

What do you guys think?
