"wrong hostid" reported by FlexLM on NT server

I am running FlexLM v6.1g, 7.1d & 7.1f (produced by Globetrotter.com) that handles licenses for multiple applications/libraries. All work but one. The cryptic license.dat file contains a license string based on the MAC address of the server (which is specified in the daemon startup string). The DAEMON won't start because it's reporting a hostid address of FFFFFF. Nothing has changed - same server, same NIC.

Why won't the DAEMON of this one library (ViewLogic by Innoveda) recognize the hostid/MAC addr correctly? How can I fix it? If you always do, what you always did
You'll always get, what you always got!!
