I am trying to register a DLL on a newly built 2008 r2 64bit domain controller, I am logged in with a admin domain account that does have admin schema and all the other permissions a doman admin should have, but when I click on start>run and execute

regsrv32 schmmgmt.dll

I get an error thats in the thread title that "windows can not find regsrv32"... i dont understand that because i am looking at regsrv32.exe in C:\Windows\System32

anybody know whats going on?

As Windows 2008 R2 is a 64-bit OS, I don't think you can run regsrv32 directly from c:\windows\system32. Try running it from c:\windows\syswow64 instead.

ok another problem. I registered schmmgmt.dll successfully so i can add the Active Directory Schema snap-in on MMC. I still do not see Active Directory Schema listed..... even running MMC with elevated privileges i don't see it.

is something else i need to do since this is a 64 bit windows 2008 r2 box?

Google searches just point me back to registering the dll and they all say that's all i have to do to have this feature available.....
