I'm on an Avaya/Nortel CS1000 and am trying to find a feature that will allow myself or a user to call the switch from their phone (either a 500, 2008, 2616) in order to find out what their DN is. Basically if you don't know the number of a phone, is there a way to find out the number from the phone by calling the switch to have an automated attendant tell you the number that you're calling from?

Thanks!

Nope, sorry. However it's pretty easy to call another user with a display phone or the attendant console and find out.

Calling someone with a display phone is what I'm doing now but it doesn't work if no one is there.

What is an attendant console, and how do I access it?

The Attendant console is just a main answering position, you know when you dial "0". You may not have one.

Sorry the attachment did not stay with the post, however GHTROUT's link to his files has it there in that thread.

If its not working, get a bigger hammer!
