"Use Background Picture" option is grayed out 1

I am trying to change a background picture in a cell. But the Use Background Picture checkbox is grayed out. It never used to do this. Did I change a default setting somewhere maybe? I can't find anything in my book or at Microsoft support on this.

I have this problem too....and the "marquee" feature is greyed out too. I thought, perhaps, that it had to do with themes, but I am not using a them. Let me know if you find an answer!

Usually, with a Microsoft program, when something is grayed out, an option either got turned off or on. In Outlook, we couldn't use the signature picker until we unchecked something else. So look around for something that may have gotten checked or unchecked.

I found the answer, with the help of someone on this forum.
Tools-Page Options-Compatibility.....if you have Netscape checked, some fp features won't work so change all to CUSTOM. It solved my problem!
