Good afternoon all,
Recently upgraded 350 P.C.'s to W2K. They are all running Lotus notes 5 for E-Mail and MSOffice for docs/spreadsheets. about 40 % occasionally ( 3 times a day ) have an "Unexpected network error" message on screen and have to reboot. The same P.C's were fine before the upgrade and no network components ( Cisco ) have been changed. All NIC's set to 100 Mbps Full. Tried setting the "let P.C. power off device" setting to No but this didn't help.

Any ideas ????

Service pack 3 as I heard this would cure the problem but it hasn't..........

Be certain you are on the latest version of R5. R5.0.7a and below will have problems with w2k.

Thanks for the sugestion but I've just checked and we're running Notes 5.0.8. Any other ideas ?? This is driving me up the wall

Looking at the MRU database on the Domino Domain site, it really does look like their is some sort of client issue (nothing specific to your event) that has been fixed in every MRU through 5.0.10.

I would take one of your more troubled users and see if moving them to 5.0.10 or 5.0.11 resolves the problem...

Do you have all of your critical updates for Windows 2000 and Office installed?

Coupleojars, have you had any progress on this issue? We are having the same problem here.

We are having mixed sucess with this, at the moment we have only found one way of permanently curing the problem and this is to install all Lotus Notes files on the users C drive. Obviously this will be a pain in the rear to do for everyone and it stops people roaming so I'm still looking for another cure.
