I have a VB application using a Crystal Report Object to call reports. I've upgraded to Crystal reports 8.5. All but one report are working well. This report has a version with a subreport and one without. The version with the subreport causes an error "Unable to open database". Both the report and subreport are bound to the same DAO object contained within a form of the application.

Has anyone had similar problems or any suggestions please. This is quite urgent.

Make sure that both the primary and sub report set location has been modified. In some cases you have to physically select the subreport and then go thru the steps of remapping. Just a guess!

Thanks Keith.

I have since rebuilt the application in line with the new versions of Crystal Reports and VB. The original was VB4 and Crystal 4.

For the record. The reports were autogenerated by a Crystal Reports object in VB that was bound to a runtime data object in VB. According to Crystal's web site this data link cannot be modified once created.

I reorganised the code to write queries to the database and then remapped the reports to those queries.

Arthur.
