"Trimming" end of a function 1

I have a particular function that when shown in IE, takes up alot more space in the explorer then when I see it in the Crystal Report preview. So basically I want to limit this to a certain amount of characters. For example, functionX will only show the 1st 20 characters...even if it is 25 caracters long.

Its actually just a report field....sorry, don't know why I said function.

Try Left({your.field}, 20). There are also Mid and Right functions, if you need other sorts of trimming. Also Truncate, if you want 1.99 to show as 1.
