Trying to build a pivot table in Excel 2000 off an Access query as a data source, and when I tried to add a third data element to the row section I get an error message stating that there "...are too many row or column items" and to "...drag at least one row or column item off the Pivot table, or to the Page position."

I thought the only limit on row/column items was available memory. I have 4 page items, 2 row items, and 2 column items.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance...

If you have column items where the actual number of fields make the PivotTable wider than 256 columns you'll get this error.

Drag items to Page position to see which item is causing the problem.

Cheers, Glenn.
