I'm getting the "Unable to open web project X. There is no server on port 80 at 'nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn' when trying to open a file on that server or create a new project. I'm trying the work-from-home thing connecting to the LAN at work over VPN, and was having no trouble until I installed a linksys cable modem router this weekend. Now this is happening, and it's still happening when I physically disconnect the new router, effectively going back to the setup I had before which used to work.

Here are the facts:
1) The web server IS in fact running on port 80, as evidenced by the fact that i can browse to my existing ASP pages on that server.

2) The VPN connection works fine in all other respects; I can connect to SQL server (running on the same box as IIS), open shares, even get to my outlook mailbox.

3) This is the really baffling one: When i try to open a file in the existing Interdev project that's tied to this server, or create a new project on the server, to the best of my knowledge nothing goes out over the network. It's as if Interdev is deciding on its own that there's no server at the IP address i'm specifying without even checking first.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated--thanks in advance.

I have had a similar problem in the past and was able to correct it by going to Tools - Options- Projects-Web Proxy Settings. I played around with the options on that tab and fixed my problem. It basically was trial and error by checking or unchecking the use system settings box.

Hope that helps.
