I receive the subject message and am using a Robotic library. I suspect the first tape is full and can see that the second tape is being put into the drive, but the backup fails. Does anyone have an answer as to why this happens? This is on a Windows NT server, Veritas 8.6, DLT tapes and a Dell 120LT tape drive.

Are you sure a second tape is being supplied?

If so, one thing I have found is that the pop-up alerts sometimes fall behind the actual action. When adding new tapes to my DELL 136T, I have used import on Veritas, opened the media door on the DELL 136T when Veritas unlocked it, inserted the tape, closed the door, walked back to my Veritas screen and a few moments later the pop-up alert shows up telling me the door can be opened and a tape inserted.

So, check the job history...the job may be completing and it's just taking a while for the 'alert' to show up.
