"The MAPI call failed." Error message. 1

Hi,

I'm running exchange 5.5 with SP3 on an NT4 server and am having problems accessing the administrator. The error message I get is: "The MAPI call failed. MAPI or an unspecified service provider. ID no: 80004005-0000-00000000".
It is possible to access the administrator from another pc.
Anyone have any idea?

Did you recieve a reply / fix for the error below:

I have service pack 4 installed on exchange 5.5 and cannot find a suitable fix.

Would really appreciate a reply on this.

It's the wrong version of either riched32.dll or mapi32.dll.

If memory serves me right, you can get that issue with outlook 2000 and exchange 5.5 on the same box depending on the install order. It had to do with the version of mapi32.dll.

Around the Nimda timeframe there were a slew of virii that replaced riched32.dll.

You can use gervers.exe to find the file versions and track it down.
