The upgrade from NT4.0 domain to AD was performed few months ago. Everything
was fine until a week ago. From all Windows 98 computers (with AD client)
users are getting the following error message:

Microsoft Network (from the window toolbar), "The device does not exist on
the network". This is happening only from Windows 98 machines.

Users can login using the same login name from Windows NT40 or Windows
2000Pro.

Administrator account is able to login from affected Windows 98 computers
without any problems.

Any user account used to login from Windows 98 computers gets corrupted and
have to be recreated.

Now users are logged in using administrator account in order to work with
Windows 98 computers (obviously a "quick and dirty" solution).

The computers running Windows 98 cannot be upgraded to other OS due to lack
of resources.

We removed / recreated the AD and everything were OK for a while.

We called Microsoft Tech support (they refund our expenses - thanks MS)
without resolution.

Any ideas?

Problem solved by disabling the login restriction.
