Please help:

I am just a new user of 4D; taking over a predecessor, who left, before I came in. I will try to detail my question, but please be patient, if all the needed info is not included. I will try to provide as much as I can. If I succeed, I will post the screenshot that I made, of the error message.

The system I use:
- Mac OS 10.3.9, eMac, 1.25 GHz, PowerPC G4, 512 MB DDR SDRM
- Using: 4D version, 2003

The problem:
==> I wanted to add a new record to an existing table.
==> there is a date field among other attributes

==> I typed in the name, country, etc, for the new record
==> then, when I tried to save, I got the following message:

//"The demonstration version Limit has been reached"

" Table: InfoGen (note: this a table name in the database)
" The record can not be written"//
What I did:

==> I tried it over and over.
==> I tried to use different dates present future and far far future. Result is the same. Tried to use the the HELP from the 4D screen, using the error message, but I got no content!
I am wondering:

1. As I indicated in the error message, why does it say a 'demonstration version', because the licence of 4D, we have in the department has been running for years, even before I was here and I was told it is renewed recently.
2. Why is the help content empty? i.e. I do not get any feedback from help
3.Is this error message a general one, I mean does it give you any clue, as to the range of possibilities that can result in such a message, so that I should have/ can investigate other issues.

I will appreciate, if some one can help. I would also like to ask if one can tell me of a good tutorial of 4D or if there is a short, intensive course of 4D in the 'BeNeLux' region of Europe, either by attendance or by correspondence.

Thanks in advance.

I'd say 4D thinks it is a demo version. Contact the reseller to help you resolve it.
