"Table in use" error message

Hi,
I have a problem with a table when trying to import data or carry out some other table operations the error message "Table in use. Cannot perform operation." is given. The message appears even though all forms and tables are closed. I have tried rebuilding the table, which hasn't had any effect. Clearly Paradox thinks the table is in use. How can I resolve this? (Paradox 11 - Windows Vista Home Edition)
