Hi All,

I have data in a field {fruit}, data as:
Apple
Apple
Apple
Orange
Orange
Grape

I need to display unique values like
Apple
Orange
Grape

Please suggest how to do this?

{fruit} is placed in Group footer . All the other fields are summaries and placed in group header section . Group Header has Underlay following Section Check Marked , so that group footer values display in line with group header fields.

I tried to rt click and select Suppress if duplicated, but that did not do any thing.

Is there any function?

Thanks

Why would you put a field like that in the group footer versus the group header? I'm wondering if {fruit} is really a formula, not a database field.

Suppress if duplicated does not apply in group sections. Since groups are based on unique values, what are you expecting? Do you want the fruit only to appear once in consecutive sections? Note that that wouldn't necessarily prevent the same fruit from appearing in later group sections.

I think you would be better off using actual field data instead of simplifying the issue with fruit.

This is an actual field and is not a formula.

I have a basket that can have multiple fruits. I want to display only unique fruits.

If I place it in group header section with other fields then it displays only one value depending on the sort.

Where should I place this in order to see 3 unique values in 3 rows.

Thanks

Group report by Fruit and place all your data to be displayed in Group footer and suppress friut group header and details.

You could make fruit your first group as Ian suggests, or you could insert a crosstab in the report header or report footer that uses fruit as the row, with any summary you want. Then suppress the summary and remove the grid by going to the customize style tab->format grid lines->uncheck "show grid lines" (or something like that).

Thanks Ian and LB, your suggestions worked. I grouped by Fruit and placed it in group footer. It shows all unique fruits.

Thanks
