Judging from Microsoft's free download of "Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit" tools, it appears that "srvinstw.exe", the Service-Creation Wizard, is no longer part of the server resource kit. However, "srvany, exe" IS still part of the kit. Am I right about that?
I tried using the Win-2000 version of the Service-Creation Wizard on a Win-2003 server, and it seemed to work fine. I was able to create a service that invoked "srvany.exe". Then, by modifying the registry in the usual way, I was able to set up my application as a service on the Win-2003 server.
Is there some pitfall that I should be aware of, or am I right to assume that the Win-2000 Wizard ("srvinstw.exe") is perfectly usable on a Win-2003 server?
