"simple Files Sharing" Option Is Missing

My pentium 3 with windows XP home on it is currently holding hostage a number of files of high importance, among them my unfinished exam paper. I can't access the files because after problems I had to use another drive as master and my acount on the previous master was password protected.

Since prompting the computer to "share this folder" in the sharing tab of the folder properties isn't working, I wanted to shut down simple files sharing in the folder options, but in the advanced section of the folder options view tab this option is simply missing.
Does anyone know something I can do about this?

For XP home, you'll need to boot into safe mode. Then as administrator you'll be able to take ownership by following
