While booting sun solaris I get this error:

"Setting default IPv4 interface for multicast: addnet 224.0/4: gateway
hostname
- 1 uncorrectable error"

Then if I hit enter numerous times (not sure if this is needed) it goes through after about 5 min.

Any idea?

I'd just go through all the basics:

ifconfig -a

check you have an /etc/hostname.<interface name> and that it contains the correct hostname / IP address.

make sure your IP address / hostname is correct in /etc/hosts

make sure /etc/defaultrouter has what you'd expect in there.

Adding to what mkharris has said, also look and make sure you have the /etc/resolv.conf file with the correct domain and your domain is on the 'search' line.

Good Luck.
Have a Great Day!!)
