Windows 2K server system.
Installed SP4 recently. Ever since, on restart the server service does not start (event id: 7022). The server takes a long time to actually boot but eventually does so. All the services that are dependent on the "server" service (eg Netlogon) also don't start.

Once the server is booted however, the services can be started manually.

Any ideas would be greatly Aprreciated.
Thank you.

Is Citrix running on this box?

You can also, reinstall File and Print Sharing if you think something is wrong with the service itself.

If that doens't do it, try making the other services 'dependonservice' the server service.

193888 How to Delay Loading of Specific Services

Many thanks Siddharth.
I do not run Cirix on this box.
I will try and reinstall file and print sharing - can't do it for a while because it is a mission critical box.
Does the server service relate to providing file & print sharing does it? I've never been sure what the server service does.

I don't want to delay loading services or changing dependancies because the server service is critical.

Lou.

Well if the server service is so mission critital for you, fix it by figuring out what dependancy it is hanging on and then make it wait!

Otherwise, one day someone will reboot the server while you are gone and not go back in and manually turn on the services that did not start.
