"Server: Msg 17, Level 16, State 1" error

hi

i have tried to connect Database in remote computer using its IP from Enterprise Manager (New SQL Server Registration .... ) and Query Analayser. i have been successful.
i have developed java code. and i succesfully run it with remote database.

My problem: when i try to connect to my local db i have get exception. i have changed only computer name (or IP).
Then i want to connect from Query Analyser i have get message:

Unable to connect to server local
Server: Msg 17, Level 16, State 1
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]
Sql Server does not exist or access denied
